Correctable Violations
If you were issued a
citation for violation
of 5200 – 5202, missing
or improperly displayed
license plates, or 5204,
missing, expired or
improperly displayed
registration tabs, you
must provide valid proof
of correction with your
citation or notice.
Vehicle inspection for
valid proof of
correction may be
obtained at one of the
following authorized
agencies:

Your violation will be
reduced to $10.00 when
you mail in your valid
proof of correction, and
citation or notice
within 21 calendar days of the
issue date of your
citation or 14 calendar days of
the mailing date of your
reminder notice.
NOTE: Any fees paid for
the inspection by the
Police Department,
Department of Motor
Vehicles, California
Highway Patrol or
Marshal’s Inspection
Office do not include
the $10.00 reduced fine.

correction and citation
or reminder notice.
